Construction, Design and Management (CDM)

CDM Roles

Appoint Risk Management Safety Ltd as Principal Designer or CDM Consultant (assigned by the client) depending on the size of the construction project and the design team involved. Risk Management Safety will become a part of the project team. Our consultants work with all project team members to aid with health and safety compliance without over-complicating CDM. Our consultants will collect and provide pre-construction information including the drafting of the Health and Safety File. Consultants will participate at design meetings to complement projects.

Construction Site Safety Inspections

A site inspection completed by Risk Management Safety Ltd is designed to give clients a snapshot of Health and Safety compliance on their construction sites. We are based in London and can provide these consultancy services across the UK to a range of construction sites.

We prefer to be accompanied around the site by the site management team. This gives us the opportunity to discuss the works being completed on site and report any major issues straight away.  At the end of the health and safety inspection our consultants will always discuss the report in full.

Each inspection contains a detailed action plan of the health and safety control measures to be implemented on your site by you or your sub-contractors

Construction Phase Plan

Construction phase plan. The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM Regulations) are intended to ensure that health and safety issues are properly considered during a project’s development so that the risk of harm to those who have to build, use and maintain structures is reduced.

What is classed as CDM Notifiable?

If your construction project in the UK lasts more than 30 days, with more than 20 workers working at the same time, or involving 500 person days’ work, the HSE need to be notified using the F10.

Asbestos Awareness

All operatives who may come across asbestos in their day to day work must be provided with asbestos awareness training. It is a legal requirement under Section 10 of the control of asbestos regs 2012. Here at RMS we provide the training through expert courses to ensure that operatives understand the risks and safe management of asbestos if found in the fabric of any building or land.

DSE Assessors Training

Display screen equipment regulations 1992 state that employers must carry out a risk assessment of workstations used by employees to reduce any identified risks. Here at Risk Management safety we can provide comprehensive DSE assessments and practical consultation for all office based environments in London and across the UK.

Emergency First Aid at Work

An Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification enables an appointed first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.
